"It will make you cry and make you remember how irresponsible you were in your teenage years. From issues of race, family, and just having a good time creating mischief, it will put a smile on your face and make you feel like you’re a teenager all over again."
Wayne Perryman, Author and President of Humanity Diversity LLC
“The book is inspirational for readers of all ages and circumstances.
These guys show persistence, guts, determination, and the power of the group. I laughed
out loud as I was drawn into their hilarious antics.”
Jim Bender, Professional Comedian
“The story unfolds in the streets of Seattle and illustrates how humor and
resourcefulness enabled these twelve racially diverse guys to overcame adversity and
crime and propel themselves to success.”
George Duff, President Emeritus, Seattle Chamber of Commerce
"In many respects it’s a modern-day Huckleberry Finn story. It is hilarious in places and a delightfully moving account of
friendships and the power to overcome a host of obstacles to become men of
accomplishment and distinction.”

"It’s a miracle I lived through it. Within fifty yards of home, complete strangers tried to kill me. And for no reason. Not unusual in Seattle’s projects where I lived."
Ron Thompson is an award-winning educator, curriculum writer and business owner who grew up in poverty in Seattle’s Yesler Terrace housing project. He chose higher education as the path to depart from the projects.
It took all his creativity and passion to succeed. In spite of the struggle, he managed to pay for his college tuition and books by performing as a professional magician.
His career spanned from that of a high school science teacher to an adjunct professor at Seattle Pacific University. Ron has received two of America’s most prestigious awards for exceptional teaching and writing science curricula.
He resides in the Seattle area and conducts workshops for science teachers throughout the nation. He is also the author of "Biology: As Scientific Inquiry" and is co-author of "Heath Biology Laboratory Investigations", and numerous science texts.
